The Uncharted Maritime Tales podcast was co-created by the MAT, underrepresented sectors of society, and maritime archaeology specialists to reach audiences around the globe with different understandings of UCH. Topics covered included ships’ and artefacts’ stories, the relationship between UCH and its surrounding environment, the role of women in the discipline through time, and underwater landscapes. Particular attention was given to actors in maritime history and archaeology that have often been overlooked, including the stories of Black and Asian seamen and the contribution of women to maritime archaeology. Guests were chosen from different sectors to cover aspects and challenges related to UCH. The podcast was originally part of the “Fathoming the Future” project, aimed at telling new stories using existing archival resources and material to a variety of audiences through exciting digital resources. The episodes are available and will remain available on the Trust’s YouTube account and other streaming platforms.
